For safety, leads over 5m should not be used on pavements or busy urban streets to prevent tangling around people, other dogs, or street furniture. Always inspect the carabiner before each walk to confirm it is fully secured. If walking strong dogs or persistent pullers, hold the lead with both hands when extra leverage is needed. Please note that the 10m long line is designed exclusively for safe, open environments and should never be used near traffic.
How do I pick the right lead length for training?
If you are starting basic recall training, the 5m lead is ideal — it gives your dog freedom to explore while keeping you in total control. For advanced distance training, choose the 10m long line in open fields. For everyday urban walking on busy streets, stick with a 1.5m or 2m lead.
Is the latex silk finish genuinely soft to hold?
Yes, absolutely. It forms a smooth protective layer over the high-strength fibre, cushioning your hands on long strolls or if your dog suddenly pulls. It offers a far more comfortable grip than plain nylon leads.
Is the carabiner suitable for heavy pullers or larger breeds?
Yes, the metal carabiner is built for everyday reliability. However, if you have a large dog that pulls with significant force, we advise inspecting the clip regularly before walks to ensure it continues to latch smoothly and securely.
Is it safe to use the 10m long line on town streets or pavements?
No, we advise against it. Long lines are meant exclusively for secure, open spaces like fenced parks and open fields away from traffic. For walking on public roads or pavements, keep to a maximum length of 2m for total control.
